Our ancestors have left behind many folk games for future generations to play during various festivals to create fun and increase mutual relationships. There are many Khmer folk games such as the King Game (Sdach Jang), Teanh Proat, Leak Kon Saeng, Choul Chhoung, Jarb Kon Klaeng Game, etc. Among all these games, the Sokola Bon Bon Game “ល្បែងសូកកូឡា បុងបុង” is also a Khmer folk game that young and teenaged people play during their free time and any festival.

Sokola Bon Bon Game is best played with many people and does not discriminate between small- and large-sized body, but rather to share the winnings and losings when the result is announced. Firstly, two large-sized children take the lead, raising their arms high and holding each other, and each assumes that one of them will take the name of Sokola and the other will take the name of Bon Bon. Commonly, they named their team by using fruit names. For example, one side names Apple and other names Peach.

The rest of the children must stand holding each other in a row and walk under the hands of the two leaders, shouting gradually: “Sokola, Bon Bon, reached third time, Intercepted”. Then, when both leaders whom raise their arms high and lower their arms in unison to seize a player, they both must ask, “Sokola or Bon Bon?” meaning that the seized player takes a Sokola or Bon Bon. If the seized player said “Sokola”, he or she must stand on the side of Sokola, but if the seized player said “Bon Bon”, he or she must stand on the side of Bon Bon. They would trap and ask in this way until everyone was caught. Then they would gather their respective group members to compete for victory-defeat until they fell to the ground. The losers were those who had been dragged away and all the people from their own group were taken away.
