Our ancestors have left behind many folk games for future generations to play during various festivals to create fun and increase mutual relationships. There are many Khmer folk games such as the King Game (Sdach Jang), Teanh Proat, Leak Kon Saeng, Choul Chhoung, Jarb Kon Klaeng Game, etc. during Khmer New year or other Festivals.

Among all these games, the Bome Toek Dak Dorb or Bottle Filling Game is a fun game that can be played at festivals or entertainment events. It has a simple gameplay and can help increase joy and unity between many people. Especially during the New Year, Cambodians often play Khmer folk games for fun, and most children like to play the bottle pumping game, a popular game that brings joy to the Khmer New Year.

Here is how to prepare and play this game:

This game requires materials such as: empty water bottles (the number depends on the number of players), water containers or buckets (filled with water), a timer, a table or chair (to hold the empty water bottles and water containers or buckets). This game is played by two or more people, with a game organizer who is the timekeeper.

Before starting the game, empty water bottles are prepared on one side and a water bucket filled with water on the other side, and there is about 5 meters or longer apart.

The action of the game is that the player is required to use his mouth to pour water from the container on one side into the empty bottle on the other side, and whoever fills it first is the winner. To add to the fun, you can blindfold them or tie their hands behind their back, etc. The winner is determined by measuring which bottle has the most water within a set period of time – that person is the winner!
